Local residents and leaders gathered on Saturday, May 18 to celebrate the grand opening of Centercourt Athletic Club (CAC) of Marlboro, N.J., a new state-of-the-art indoor tennis center with innovative programs for players of all ages and abilities. The event provided visitors with a chance to see CAC of Marlboro’s nationally-recognized junior programs, and to play tennis on two of the club’s indoor courts. Marlboro Councilwoman Carol Mazzola and members of the Marlboro Economic Development Committee were on hand for a special ribbon cutting ceremony.

“Tennis is a sport that anyone can learn, and enjoy with their friends and family,” said Yevgeny Supeko, general manager of CAC of Marlboro. “We are very excited about our Grand Opening and the chance to introduce tennis to those who live and work in this vibrant community.”

CAC of Marlboro, which opened to the public in February, has six brand new hard courts, a second floor viewing area with plush sofas, and a fully-equipped fitness area. In addition to competitive rates for court time, CAC offers a wide range of training programs, from child-friendly tennis for young kids, to beginner and cardio tennis programs for adults.

“Centercourt Athletic Club is spacious and well thought-out, offering babysitting services, men’s and women’s lockers, a massage room plus a second floor lounge and workout center with a bird’s eye view of the action taking place on the courts,” said Mazzola. “The club adds a new dimension to the exciting list of new businesses opening in Marlboro.”

The club is the latest of five Centercourt facilities to open in New Jersey and offers the same quality of junior programs that helped Centercourt become one of the United States Tennis Association’s 17 Certified Regional Training Centers (RTCs), working to develop the next generation of American tennis champions. Centercourt’s first club, where professional tennis champions such as Justin Gimelstob trained, is in Chatham, N.J.
