Americans Grace Min and Shelby Rogers both advanced to the semifinals of the Gastein Ladies tournament in Austria on Friday as each cruised to straight set victories.

Min played the early match and faced off with eighth-seeded Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic. The 20-year old Min rolled to the 6-2, 6-1 victory and has yet to lose a set all tournament. She saved both of her break point opportunities and notched points on 71 percent of her first serves to dictate play while also breaking Pliskova’s serve four times.

The victory came in just under an hour, and Min now draws a semifinal match with fourth-seeded Andrea Petkovic of Germany. Petkovic defeated Switzerland’s Stefanie Voegele 6-3, 6-2 in her matchup Friday.

Fresh off her victory over 15th-ranked Carla Suarez-Navarro yesterday, Shelby Rogers took down Camila Giorgi on Friday, disposing of the Italian 6-1, 7-5 in 92 minutes. Rogers used a powerful return game to upend Giorgi, picking up five break points to counter a good serve from Giorgi who ripped seven aces.

Rogers also used her patented strong serve to notch points on 73 percent of her firsts. The 21-year old American now advances to the final four and will play another Italian, Sara Errani, for a spot in the final. Errani needed all three sets to get past South Africa’s Chanelle Scheepers Friday, winning 2-6, 6-1, 6-3.
