For the second time in three weeks, Eugenie Bouchard has withdrawn from a tournament, something that has become a bit of a trend for her recently.

The 21-year old Canadian announced on Monday that an arm injury will keep her out of the Abierto Monterrey Afirme this week, where she was scheduled to be the tournament’s number two seed.

Bouchard also withdrew from the Dubai Duty Free Championships two weeks ago following an opening match exit in Antwerp.  She has played in just two tournaments all year long, which included a run to the quarterfinals at the Australian Open.

Defending champion and sixth-ranked Ana Ivanovic is the top-seed in Monterrey.

US Open champion Marin Cilic is still struggling with a right shoulder injury that has kept him sidelined for all of 2015. The Croat was hoping to be ready to go for Croatia’s Davis Cup tie against Serbia next weekend, but is not quite able to play just yet.

“We had expected a miracle, but Cilic is not ready for five-set matches,” said Croatia team captain Zeljko Krajan.

With Cilic out, Croatia will lean on teenager Borna Coric, who made a name for himself last week with his straight-set rout of Andy Murray in Dubai.

Cilic hasn’t played a match since going 0-3 at the ATP World Tour Finals last November.
