American Sam Querrey came back from a set down to beat second-seed Gilles Simon 5-7, 7-6(8), 6-4 on Thursday to reach the Aegon Nottingham Open semifinals.

Simon actually won more points than Querrey in this one, but was unable to put the American away in a second-set tiebreaker. In the third, Querrey managed to get the key break point late in the frame to secure the victory.

Overall, the 12th-seeded Querrey nailed down three break points in six chances to edge Simon.

In the semifinals, Querrey will take on Ukraine’s Alexandr Dolgopolov, who edged Yen-Hsun Lu of the Chinese Taipei 6-4, 4-6, 7-6(4) in the day’s final match.

The other semifinal will pit Denis Istomin against Marcos Baghdatis.

Istomin took out fourth-seed Leonardo Mayer 3-6, 7-6(10), 7-6(6), while Baghdatis got past Simone Bolelli 6-4, 6-4.
