Baruch Remains Undefeated With Win Over William Paterson

The Baruch Bearcats continued its undefeated start to the 2015 season, downing William Paterson 8-1 in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday afternoon.

Baruch was led by Daria Vasekina, who continued her stellar play this season, defeating Summer Bernales 8-1 at second singles. She also paired with Allie Jackson-King at first doubles to defeat the William Paterson duo of Brittany LaBruna & Bernales 8-4.

Vasekina is now undefeated in singles and doubles this season.

Baruch will take its undefeated record to the National Tennis Center on Columbus Day when it plays Hunter College.

Also on Tuesday, the CUNY Athletic Conference named Jackson-King the Player of the Week.

Jackson-King, the Bearcats’ captain, won each of her singles and doubles matches last week, and continues to dominate in doubles with Vasekina. The duo is 4-0 this season playing doubles together.

Isabel Arias was named the CUNY Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week as well. Arias is 7-0 this season in singles play, including winning all four of her matches inside the CUNYAC Conference.
