Maria Sharapova announced on Wednesday that she has withdrawn from the Qatar Total Open in Doha with a left arm injury.

“Unfortunately, I will not be able to play the Qatar Total Open because of left forearm injury,” Sharapova said in a statement. “I would like to wish the tournament and all the great fans in Doha a great week of tennis and I hope to see them next year.”

The arm injury dates back to last year’s Wuhan Open in September. She has not played since reaching the Australian Open quarterfinals in January. Despite being a part of Russia’s Fed Cup loss to the Netherlands, Sharapova did not play in any of the matches.

Here in the United States, Canada’s Milos Raonic announced on Thursday that he will miss the Delray Beach Open.

Raonic, a semifinalist at last month’s Australian Open, said he is still feeling the effects of the injury he suffered in that semifinal against Andy Murray.

“I am still recovering from the injury I experienced at the Australian Open,” Raonic said in a statement. “I’m disappointed that I won’t be able to make my debut in Delray Beach on Tuesday. I heard that there would be great support from Canadians in the area, so I hope to be able to play in Delray Beach next year.”
