Novak Djokovic will get a chance at a personal record Sunday in the finals of the 2016 French Open when he meets Andy Murray for the Roland Garros title which has so far eluded him. Djokovic took care of Austrian Dominic Thiem 6-2, 6-1, 6-4 to advance, while Murray unseated defending champ Stan Wawrinka 6-4, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 to move into the finals.

"I have been dreaming all year long of reaching the Roland Garros final,” said Djokovic, who will be playing in his fourth Roland Garros final. “I did not start this tournament the way I wanted but today I played my best match of the tournament.”

Murray seeks to become the first Brit to win the French Open trophy in more than eight decades.

"I knew today if I wanted to win I was going to have to play one of my best clay court matches. Stan was playing better every match," said Murray after defeating Wawrinka. "I am extremely proud. I never expected to reach the final here, I always struggled on the clay. I played one of my best clay court matches today and I hope I can put on a good match on Sunday."

Sunday’s final will mark the 34th meeting between Murrary and Djokovic, with the Serb holding a 23-10 advantage over Murray. Murray defeated Djokovic in May's Italian Open final, their most recent encounter on clay.
