American Querrey Ousted at Aegon Open

Ninth-seeded Marcos Baghdatis reached his fifth ATP World Tour quarterfinal of 2016 on Wednesday at the Aegon Open Nottingham, defeating American Sam Querrey 1-6, 7-6(8), 6-4 in just under two hours. Baghdatis will next face second-seeded Pablo Cuevas, who rallied to beat Daniel Evans 6-7(4), 7-6(5), 6-4.

Also moving on was the top seeded Kevin Anderson, who defeated Fernando Verdasco 6-3, 7-6(6) to reach the quarterfinals where he will meet American Steve Johnson. Johnson defeated Vasek Pospisil 7-6(4), 7-6(1).
