Brooklyn Tech Powers Into NYC Finals

The Brooklyn Tech Engineers remained undefeated on the 2017 season and powered its way into the PSAL “A” Division finals on Tuesday afternoon, beating Francis Lewis 5-0 in a semifinal showdown.

Top-seed Brooklyn Tech put together a sweep of all five courts to oust the fourth-seed Patriots of Francis Lewis.

Chelsea Williams defeated Kelly Chen 6-2, 6-0 at first singles to help lead the way for the Engineers. Nicole Semenov and Michelle Kleynerman won 6-0, 6-0 at second and third singles, respectively, to bolster the Brooklyn Tech advantage.

In doubles, Alina Abramoff and Liliko Chung notched a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Gabriella Ng and Katelyn Chau at first doubles while Audrey Simon and Mira Gupta notched a 6-1, 6-1 win against Seohee Lee and Sumintra Siengsutthiwong at second doubles to round out the scoring.

Brooklyn Tech will meet defending champion Beacon in the “A” Division Final on Thursday afternoon.

Bard and Maspeth will play today for the “B” Division title.
