Cardozo Downs Forest Hills To Keep Pace in Queens A

The Judges of Benjamin Cardozo High School kept pace atop the Queens A standings on Monday afternoon, beating Forest Hills 4-1 to improve to 7-1 on the season.

Cardozo was led by its top two singles players, both of whom posted shutout victories. Christopher Tham beat Daniel Rusin 10-0 in the first singles spot while Kai Yuminaga beat Oscar Lopez 10-0 at second singles.

After Forest Hills won the first doubles flight, the Cardozo pair of Diego Escobar and Nelson Cao edged Forest Hills’ Jae Woo Yoo and Zakaria Khan 11-10 in the second doubles spot to clinch the Judges victory.

At third singles, Tony Leung of Cardozo chipped in a 10-2 win over Royal Sharma of Forest Hills.

Cardozo is now 7-1 and is tied with Townsend Harris at the top of the Queens A standings.
