The St. John’s men’s tennis team headed to Princeton for the Farnsworth Invitational this past weekend, and in total the Red Storm won 19 different singles matches, and five St. John’s players reached the finals of their respective draws.

In total, the Red Storm compiled a record of 19-4 in singles play, and 8-4 in the doubles action. Alan Nunez Aguilera won the Whitman Draw and Dusan Vukicevic won the Lenz Draw as St. John’s enjoyed a successful weekend.

“We had high expectations going into the tournament and I believe we did very well,” said St. John’s Assistant Coach Cory Hubbard. “To win three flights and have two finalists plus a final in doubles shows our depth.

Overall, we were 19-4 in singles. Our doubles was not great and we need to focus a lot more on understanding how to play the right way and getting to net more. We are in a good position to do well at regionals. We have played matches and gained confidence and been able to improve on certain things.”
