USTA Eastern will host its 30th Annual College Showcase Day on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 at the Saw Mill Club in Mount Kisco, N.Y. for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors, along with college coaches.

College Showcase Day provides students with the opportunity to meet college tennis coaches, collect recruiting information and learn about the NCAA process. The event is also for college coaches to recruit and get exposure for their tennis programs.

USTA Director, Professional Tennis Operations and Player Relations and formerly ranked ATP doubles player Eric Butorac will be hosting an on-court clinic for college coaches. Butorac will also be leading a college seminar for students and parents discussing his journey on finding the right college, while providing tips on how to select the school that fits each student’s needs.

The agenda for the day includes:

►High school coaches: 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
►High school sophomores: 10:30 a.m.-2:15 p.m.
►High school juniors and seniors: 10:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

“College Showcase Day is an excellent resource for both students and coaches,” said Julie Bliss Beal, senior director, competition at USTA Eastern. “It allows students the opportunity to learn about the recruiting process, and become familiar with more than 60 college tennis programs. It gives coaches the chance to recruit players in person as well as participate in on-court clinics with former ATP player Eric Butorac.”

Cost for high school students is $130 and cost for college coaches is $25. A late fee is added to the price for those who register after Monday, Oct. 31, 2016.

Each student will receive a resource guide including: Recruiting guidelines and tips, financial timeline information, USTA scholarships and additional college tennis opportunities.

“It was an amazing experience,” said Katasha, a former College Showcase Day attendee. “Although it is pretty nerve-racking I'm glad I did it because I don't think I'd be able to be playing college tennis if I didn't attend.”
