Rafael Nadal of Spain is still invigorated to play and lead his country in its attempt to take a fifth Davis Cup title against Argentina. Nadal created worries when he stated that he felt "less passionate for the game" after being knocked out of the ATP World Tour Finals.

After a practice session for the Davis Cup, which commences on Dec. 2nd, Nadal stated that he overstated his feelings regarding his passion for the game.

“Things get blown out of proportion very often because conclusions are drawn far beyond the meaning of what’s said. It’s true that this season has been tough. More than a lack of passion, it is weariness from many years of playing at this level, week after week," said Nadal.

Nadal will lead the team from Spain on clay at Olympic Stadium which includes fifth-ranked David Ferrer and most likely doubles partners Feliciano Lopez and Fernando Verdasco. Argentina on the other hand will seek to gain its first title in its fourth attempt. Juan Martin del Potro and David Nalbandian are possible opponents of Nadal and Ferrer in singles match ups.
