The first time I picked up a tennis racquet, I immediately fell in love with the sport of tennis. It was not in a tennis club or a country club where this happened, but on a somewhat beat up tennis court with cracks and dips all over in a local park.

City Parks Foundation is proud to announce the inaugural launch of its Battle of the Boroughs Tennis Challenge. USTA Eastern honored more than 35 juniors, adults and organizations on Jan. 26, 2013, when the section helds its Annual Awards Luncheon and Dinner at the Renaissance Westchester Hotel in White Plains, N.Y. At the Luncheon, eight juniors were recognized for the outstanding sportsmanship they showed in USTA-sanctioned tournaments in 2012.

The 2013 National Family Tennis Championships offers thousands of amateur players all across America the opportunity to team up with a family member to earn the right to play for a national title in New York City from August 22-26, 2013.
