Andre Agassi has taken the Champion Series event at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America Championships held at the Thomas & Mack Center. He defeated Pete Sampras 8-5, who defeated John McEnroe to set up the finals match held on Oct. 15. 

"This was the best, most energized crowd of the entire series so far this year. It means the world to me that everyoen came out tonight to support us. It was a very special feeling, and I can't thank the fans enough, " said Agassi. 

This was Agassi's second win for the season which advances him to second place behind Sampras who leads by 800 points. There are three events left this season for Agassi to attempt to make a comeback to first at.
