Top-Seeded Monfils Moves on to Stockholm Open Quarters

Top-seeded Gael Monfils of France has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Stockholm Open, with a 6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-4 win over world-44th-ranked Bernard Tomic of Australia. Monfils will face South African Kevin Anderson, the number five seed, in the quarterfinals.

Unseeded David Nalbandian of Argentina upset the seventh-seeded Ivan Dodig of Croatia, 6-1, 6-1, advancing to face American James Blake in the quarterfinals as well. Jarkko Nieminen of Finland upset third-seeded Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland, 6-3, 6-4 in the second round. Nieminen set himself up for a quarterfinal match against Tobias Kamke of Germany, who won his second-round match against fellow countryman Sebastian Rieschick, 6-3, 6-1.

Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria beat the fourth-seeded Juan Ignacio Chela, 6-2, 5-7, 6-1, and will play the sixth-seeded Milos Raonic of Canada in the quarterfinals.
