Lleyton Hewitt has received a wild card entry into the Australian Open in January. He has won two Grand Slams and was once ranked first in the world. Hewitt has dropped to 188th in the rankings after injuries have upset his seasons, but Craig Tiley, tournament director, said giving him the wild card was the easiest decision he has had to make.

"Lleyton has had some bad luck with injury recently, which has seen his ranking drop, but he has proved time and time again he can never be discounted, particulary in a big match," Tiley said.
