The Tottenville Pirates moved to 6-0 on the season, edging McKee/Staten Island Tech 3-2 on Tuesday afternoon to remain atop the League A4 standings.

The Seagulls of McKee/Staten Island Tech won both the first and second singles flights to make this one a very interesting contest. At first singles, Anastasiya Malinouskaya defeated Karina Karazhbey 10-0, and Caitlin Balagula beat Paulina Daugis 10-2 at second singles to give the Seagulls two victories.

But Tottenville responded, as Alexia Adragna knocked off Julia Balla 10-2 at third singles to get the Pirates on the board.

And then the doubles teams for Tottenville came up big. Nicole Calabrese and Valerie Awad took out Chloe Trang and Rebecca Krupatkin 10-7, and in an even closer match, Michella Iosipov and Tristiana Adragna edged out Gabrielle Garcia and Sharon Zeldin 11-9 to secure the win for the Pirates.

Tottenville will look to continue its unbeaten season when it plays CSIHS/McCown next, while McKee/Staten Island Tech will play Port Richmond.
