The Columbia Men’s tennis team defeated 22nd ranked Minnesota 4-0 on Sunday to advance to the ITA Kickoff Weekend championship match on Monday afternoon.

The 16th ranked Lions earned the match’s doubles point by winning two of the three doubles contests. In singles, Victor Pham defeated Felix Corwin 6-3, 6-2 at second singles, Mike Vermeer beat Josip Krstanovic 6-3, 6-1 at fourth singles and Richard Pham knocked off Justyn Levin 6-3, 6-2 at fifth singles to clinch the victory for Columbia.

Columbia now advances to the championship match of the ITA Kickoff Weekend at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows against 18th ranked Stanford, who beat 14th ranked Virginia Tech in their match on Sunday.
