Former U.S. Open Champion Stosur Pulls Out of U.S. Open

Australia’s Samantha Stosur has withdrawn from the U.S. Open, citing a lingering right hand injury.

Stosur, who hoisted the U.S. Open trophy in 2011, has not played since losing in the fourth round to eventual champion Jelena Ostapenko at the French Open earlier this summer.

The 33-year-old Stosur will be replaced in the draw by 114th ranked Annika Beck of Germany.
