Chris Evert, one of tennis’ all-time great players, will be a guest speaker at the 2017 “Little Mo” Internationals in Florida in December, the Maureen Connolly Brinker Tennis Foundation (MCB) announced on Monday.

“MCB is honored to welcome Chris Evert to speak at the ‘Little Mo’ Internationals in Florida,” said Cindy Brinker Simmons, president of MCB and daughter of Maureen “Little Mo” Connolly Brinker. “Chris awed tennis fans with her unrivaled mental toughness, outstanding sportsmanship and lovely graciousness on and off the court throughout her successful junior and professional playing career. I am confident she will inspire our young and talented ‘Little Mo’ players with stories of her experiences and the life lessons she learned as an elite junior player.”

Evert is an 18-time Grand Slam champion who held the world number one ranking in singles for 260 weeks during her career. She currently serves an analyst for ESPN and is a 1995 inductee of the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

In addition, MCB and the Evert Tennis Academy announced a partnership for the “Little Mo” Internationals in Florida.

“The Evert Academy is extremely honored to partner with the ‘Little Mo’ and the Maureen Connolly Brinker Tennis Foundation this year,” said Alan Laymon, Vice President of Enrollment and Outreach at the Evert Tennis Academy. “Our partnership brings together two great tennis brands that represent the same set of shared values…integrity and sportsmanship through the game of tennis. I know firsthand how exciting the ‘Little Mo’ tournament is for kids. Both of my boys, now 11 and 14, have participated in ‘Little Mo’ events numerous times. For my youngest, at seven years old, it was his first foray into the world of competitive tennis. Both he and his older brother formed some solid friendships there which have continued to flourish over the years.”

The “Little Mo” Internationals is open to any player worldwide aged eight through 14 and will begin on Friday, December 1 at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
