Frederick Douglass Wins NYC “B” Division Championship

Frederick Douglass captured the New York City PSAL “B” Division title after downing Bard 4-1 in the championship match at Flushing Meadows Corona Park.

Shawn Mitchell Yon notched a 6-1, 6-3 at first singles, while Jeremy Victoria posted a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at second singles. Rounding out the singles play was Joshua Bey, who made it a singles sweep for Frederick Douglass via a 6-1, 6-1 third singles win.

At first doubles, Alejandro Inoa & Derwin Guzman notched a 6-3, 6-3 victory at first doubles to round out the scoring for Frederick Douglass. Bard would win the second doubles point thanks to a 6-0, 6-3 victory from Ezra Mellor & Micah Killmer.
