SPORTIME and the John McEnroe Tennis Academy (JMTA) announced on Thursday that it will be hosting the third annual College Recruiting Combine on June 23-24 at SPORTIME Randall’s Island.

The Combine, a big success in each of the past two summers, will again give select rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors, from around the country and beyond, JMTA students and non-JMTA students, the opportunity to showcase their technical and tactical tennis skills, as well as their athletic abilities and mental toughness, in front of coaches from top colleges and universities. College Coaches From Brown, Yale, Cornell, Dartmouth, Penn State, William & Mary, Wake Forest, Middlebury, Wesleyan, Stony Brook, Bryant, St. John’s, Union and Colgate have already committed to attend with many others pending. Representatives from prestigious leagues including the Ivy League, ACC, Big East, SEC, Big 10, Patriot League and NESCAC attended last year, and are expected again this year.

“One of the driving forces at JMTA is our commitment to preparing our players for college tennis, and helping them to find their best college fit,” said John McEnroe. “After an amazing first two years of the JMTA Combine, we are excited to be expanding the JMTA Combine in 2018 to include more coaches and more students, and we are confident that it will be a great resource for both.”

Interested players can get more information and can apply to participate in the Combine at www.SportimeNY.com/JMTACombine beginning February 10, with early registration closing on April 15. A regular registration period will be held from April 16 through June 1. A limited number of 120 Combine spots, for 60 boys and 60 girls, are available. The Combine Selection Committee will evaluate each application based upon objective criteria. Those early applicants chosen to participate will be informed by no later than April 20. Regular decisions will be told periodically through the registration period of their status as “admitted” or “wait listed”.

Player check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. for all players on both Combine days. Participants will compete in singles and doubles match play with tracked results. Players will also receive athletic performance assessments, and will be invited to take part in mental toughness seminars and in a College Coaches’ Panel Discussion. A new Combine partner, CIZR, will be video-recording all matches and will offer participant packages, including match videos with detailed analytics, which videos will be available for participants to send directly to college coaches. Included for each Combine participants is an integrated recruiting package, available, digitally, to both the participants and the coaches, at the touch of a button on their personal Player Portals. For further details, go to www.SportimeNY.com/JMTACombine or email jmtacombine@sportimeny.com.
