Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has withdrawn from the 2018 U.S. Open, citing an ongoing knee injury.

Currently ranked 64th in the world, Tsonga has not played since February when he was forced to retire in the semifinals of the Open Sud de France. He has played just six matches total in 2018, with a record of 4-2.

Over the course of his career, Tsonga has won 16 ATP titles, his biggest year in 2017 where he took home four, Antwerp (Indoor/Hard), Lyon (Outdoor/Clay), Marseille (Indoor/Hard) and Rotterdam (Indoor/Hard).

Replacing Tsonga in the main draw will be 26-year-old Australian James Duckworth, currently ranked 445th in the world.
