The Volvo Car Open in Charleston, South Carolina saw some great tennis from the top of the women’s game, and that included two doubles victories on the final Sunday by Alla Kudryavtseva and Katarina Srebotnik as they claimed the tournament’s doubles title.

After rain halted play on Saturday, Kudryavtseva and Srebotnik defeated Kateryna Bondarenko and Aleksandra Krunic in the semifinals, before taking on Andreja Klepac and Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez later in the day in the championship.

The pair came through with the 6-3, 6-3 victory to win the title, their first championship together as a duo.

“It feels great to receive a winner’s trophy again, after a four-year break and a major injury,” said Kudryavtseva. “It’s twice as special because it came in Charleston. I’ve played this tournament eight times and was in the semifinals here three times, but never made it to the finals until this year. And to win two matches in one day to claim the title, it just doesn’t get better than that!”
