The Queens College Knights clinched the top-seed in the upcoming East Coast Conference (ECC) Championship by defeating NYIT 7-1 on Wednesday in a rematch of last year’s conference championship.

Queens was helped out by an injury-laden NYIT team which allowed the Knights to win points at second doubles, third singles and sixth singles. Reehan Rashad won a huge match against Ivana Andric 7-6, 6-1 at first singles to help lead the way.

The win is the first for Queens against NYIT since 2012, improving to 8-0 on the season and 6-0 in ECC play.
