Team USA Defeats Colombia in Davis Cup Qualifier

The United States moved through to the 2022 Davis Cup Finals with a defeat over Colombia this weekend. The Americans won all four flights to pick up the victory in Reno, Nevada and win the Qualifier.

Sebastian Korda made his Davis Cup debut and recorded a 6-4,1-6, 6-4 over Nicolas Mejia, putting the United States ahead early. Taylor Fritz backed up that win by winning 6-1, 6-0 against Alejandro Gonzalez.

Needing one more win to advance to the Finals, the doubles duo of Rajeev Ram & Jack Sock delivered a 6-3, 6-4 victory against Juan-Sebastian Cabal & Nicolas Barrientos.

Rounding out the scoring was Tommy Paul who notched a 7-5, 7-6(4) win against Mejia. 

The United States are one of 16 teams that remain in the competition, and will compete in the 2022 Davis Cup Finals.
