Fourth-seed Elina Svitolina ousted her teenage compatriot on Friday, beating 15-year old Marta Kostyuk 6-2, 6-2 to book her spot in the final 16 in Melbourne.

“It’s very special for me to be in the fourth round for the first time,” said Svitolina. “I love the Australian Open but I’ve never been further than the third round.”

Svitolina took advantage of 11 double faults from her opponent and converted on five of her eight break point chances to move through in just under an hour.

The Ukrainian will face off against Denisa Allertova of the Czech Republic, who won 6-1, 6-4 against Magda Linette of Poland.

Former semifinalist Caroline Wozniacki cruised past 30th seed Kiki Bertens 6-4, 6-3 to secure her spot in the fourth-round.

The second-seeded Wozniacki will meet 20th seed Magdalena Rybarikova next. Rybarikova defeated Kateryna Bondarenko in a tight three-set affair on Friday.

“I’ll expect a similar type of match,” Wozniacki said looking ahead. “She has a huge serve and forehand, so I need to be ready for everything. I need to be able to change the directions and get deep returns. That will be my focus.”

Estonia’s Anett Kontaveit upset seventh-seed Latvian and last year’s French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 to advance.

Kontaveit will take on Carla Suarez-Navarro for a spot in the quarterfinals.

Rounding out the scores on the women’s side were Petra Martic and Elise Mertens, who both won their Friday matches to set up the fourth-round clash.
