China’s Shuai Zhang was the eighth and final player added to Tie Break Tens’ inaugural United States tournament, which is set to be held on Monday, March 15 at Madison Square Garden, the competition announced on Monday.

“To play at Madison Square Garden against a world-class line up will be an unforgettable experience,” said Zhang. “I love a new challenge and am excited to bring my best to Tie Break Tens’ fast-paced format.”

Zhang is currently ranked No. 34 in the world, and is the second highest ranked female Chinese singles player. During the 2017 season, she won her second WTA singles title at the Guangzhou Open. She also excels at doubles, with four titles to her name. She rounds out the star-studded lineup that features Serena and Venus Williams, Elina Svitolina, Marion Bartoli, CoCo Vandeweghe, Sorana Cirstea, and Daniela Hantuchová.

“With the addition of Shuai, we’re delighted to announce our full and final line-up of players competing at our first event in the United States,” said Tie Break Tens CEO Felicity Barnard. “It’s set to be an electrifying night of tennis, with the tournament providing the perfect opportunity to introduce the US to Tie Break Tens”.

Tie Break Tens tournaments are held over one day and involve eight players competing in a knock-out format, with each match consisting of a super tie-break to ten points. Following successful tournaments in London, Vienna, Madrid and Melbourne, the Tie Break Tens all-women event will feature the tour’s top players competing for the $250,000 winner’s prize and the opportunity to raise a trophy at the iconic venue.
