Free U.S. Open Food Truck to Tour Manhattan Next Week

The USTA, in conjunction with Levy Restaurants, the official restaurant partner of the U.S. Open, has announced that it will introduce it’s first-ever gourmet food truck that will roll through New York City on Aug. 11-13, serving U.S. Open signature dishes and new menu items free to the public. The U.S. Open is renowned for its innovative food selection, which showcases flavors from around the world and utilizes ingredients from across the region. The U.S. Open Food Truck will make stops at Bryant Park, Madison Square Park, and Union Square, giving fans a taste of the variety of food that will be served during the two-week event, held Aug. 25-Sept. 8 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.
The food truck menu will feature cuisine creations from U.S. Open celebrity chefs, David Burke and Richard Sandoval. Each stop will serve three items and the public will have an option to choose a menu item while supplies last. The following menu items will be served:
â–ºThe U.S. Open signature lobster roll
â–ºDavid Burke’s Filet Slider from Champions Bar & Grill
â–ºFarm to Fork’s chicken sandwich
â–ºMeatball slider
â–ºHill Country’s brisket
â–ºRichard Sandoval’s steak tacos (new to this year’s tournament)
Foodies and tennis fans alike will have the opportunity to win prizes and receive giveaways at the U.S. Open Food Truck, by using the hashtag #FlavoroftheOpen on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Additionally, those who stop by the truck will receive a special Ticketmaster discount code to buy U.S. Open tickets.
The U.S. Open Food Truck will be making the following stops throughout New York City:
â–ºMonday, Aug. 11 beginning at Noon (Madison Square Park)
â–ºTuesday, Aug. 12 beginning at Noon (Union Square)
â–ºWednesday, Aug. 13 beginning at 5:00 p.m. (Bryant Park)
The food truck also will feature life-size cutouts of the 2013 U.S. Open champions, Serena Williams and Rafael Nadal, for fans to take pictures with. In addition, fans will have the opportunity to take a photo with the U.S. Open trophy, which will make a special appearance on Aug. 11 at Madison Square Park.
