As we approach nearly two months of quarantine and social distancing measures to help stop the spread of the coronavirus, people are itching to be able to get out of their homes and return to some sort of normalcy. With that, a petition was created this past weekend to open up public tennis courts in New York.

The petition reads:

“Tennis is a social distancing sport. If you can open Marinas and Golf Courses, you can open Public Tennis courts where people can get out and safely practice social distancing and get some needed air and exercise…People need a safe outlet. Open the Tennis courts and Tennis Clubs as soon as possible.”

The petition was created by Maria Rizzuto and has been signed by more than 1,000 people already. Click Here to see the petition.
