Horace Greeley’s Rosenblit Sisters Come Back To Win New York State Doubles Title

October 30, 2025 | By New York Tennis Magazine Staff

Michelle and Daniella Rosenblit never panicked. Despite dropping the first set in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Doubles Championship, the sisters from Horace Greeley remained confident.

“We just wanted to focus on one game at a time, and start the second set strong,” said Michelle. “We needed to get out to a lead and then keep that lead to not let them back into it. Just focus on every point.”

With that mindset, the Rosenblits came back to defeat Saratoga Springs’ Addison Jones & Clare Dooley 1-6, 6-3, 6-1 to capture the doubles title.

It was the second consecutive state title for Michelle Rosenblit, who paired with Allison Tsai to win the championship a year ago. This time around, the senior teamed up with her younger sister, Daniella, which proved to be a one-of-a-kind experience.

“It feels really great,” said Daniella. “It’s so special to do it with my sister, in her senior year, and it’s such a great way to end our individual season.”

Michelle added:

“I feel like we communicate well, even without speaking. There are times where we don’t have to say anything to each other but understand what the other is going to do because we have that relationship off the court.”

Lola Dangin & Lillie Weiss of the Ross School earned the third-place finish by defeating Sonia Nadzan/Mira Nadzan of Charles Baker in a thrilling three-set match. The pairing responded from their semifinal loss, the only defeat they suffered as a team all year, to win on Wednesday.

“We tried our best yesterday, but then moved on to get ready for today,” Dangin said. “We told ourselves that we were going to get this one and wanted to finish third. This is a great end to the season for us. Playing with Lillie has been awesome, and coming here and competing against this group of girls has been a great experience.”

Weiss added:

“We were confident coming into today, and wanted to give it our all. That was our only loss of the season so we really wanted to bounce back today. This run definitely brought the two of us closer together, and it’s a great achievement for us.”

Continuing the theme of Wednesday, the fifth-place and seventh-place matches also both went the full three sets. Port Washington’s Brianna Lewis & Evie Loewy defeated Sadie Mcfadzen & Scarlett Mcfadzen of Horace Greeley to earn the fifth-place finish, while the Syosset tandem of Skyler Lin & Hannah Wang beat Meghan Uzzilia & Angela Li of Guilderland to finish seventh.
