Hundreds Of Athletes Compete in Annual NYJTL Mayor Dinkins Cup at the Cary Leeds Center for Tennis & Learning

The nation’s largest free interscholastic tennis competition brings NYC players together in the Bronx

The 2026 New York Junior Tennis & Learning (NYJTL) Mayor Dinkins Cup gathered more than 700 interscholastic athletes from across New York City’s five boroughs at the Cary Leeds Center for Tennis & Learning in the Bronx. The event is the largest free junior interscholastic tennis competition in the nation, with players from all over New York City representing public, parochial, and private schools.

The event is named in honor of New York City’s first black mayor and a dedicated NYJTL board member, David N. Dinkins, who was an incredible supporter of tennis during his distinguished life.

The highlights on the court are numerous and memorable from the main singles and doubles tournaments to the ACES Elementary School Team Competition to the Boys Varsity Tennis Team Championships, and concludes with the Award Ceremony featuring the participants, their families and members of NYJTL’s board as four deserving student-athletes are honored with NYJTL College Scholarship funds.

The Mayor Dinkins Cup is one of the highlights of the calendar for junior tennis players in New York City.
