France’s Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has won his first match at the ATP World Tour Finals after defeating Mardy Fish of the United States in straight sets 7-6, 6-1. Fish appeared slower as a result of a left hamstring injury that interrupted the end of his season, with Tsonga struggling for consistency.

Tsonga was up a break before the set was evened by Fish and then won in a tiebreaker by the Frenchman. Tsonga then continued strong in the second set with ease to take the match.
