The ATP World Tour has announced it will be suspending the tour for six weeks due to the COVID-19 global outbreak.

“The ATP has announced a six-week suspension of the men’s professional tennis tour due to public health & safety concerns over COVID-19,” the tour’s official Twitter account tweeted on Thursday.

The announcement comes on the heels of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, the Miami Open and several other ITF Futures and Challenger tournaments being cancelled due to the virus. There will be no professional men’s tennis matches until at least April 27.

On Wednesday night, the National Basketball Association announced it will be suspending its season after one of its players tested positive for COVID-19.

There has been no message or statement yet regarding WTA play.
