Cardozo Edges Bayside; Beacon Stays Unbeaten

The Lady Judges of Cardozo won its first match of the season on Friday afternoon, downing Bayside 3-2.

Katherine Kachkarov led the way for Cardozo with a 10-0 win over Jennifer Yoo at first singles, while Emily Moczulski defeated Cosette Futoran by the same score at second singles to give Cardozo the edge.

Cardozo’s third and final win would come from its first doubles tandem. Nia James and Nikhar Rathi defeated Esther Borukhova and Victoria Belvedere 10-5 to close things out.

In Manhattan, defending New York City champions Beacon improved to 2-0 with a 5-0 win over Eleanor Roosevelt.

Kyra and Lorraine Bergmann won their matches at first and second singles, respectively, while Sofia Shen came through with a victory at third singles to lead Beacon to the win.
