World number one-ranked Novak Djokovic has fallen to Great Britain’s Andy Murray for his first loss of the season in straight sets 6-2, 7-5 in the semifinals of the Dubai Tennis Championships. Murray lost to Djokovic in the Australian Open semifinals and was able to break the top-ranked Serbian to lead 4-2 in the first and saved to break points to lead 5-2.

Murray quickly took a 3-0 lead in the second; however, Djokovic was able to tie up the match at 5-5. Murray won the final two games of the match where he clinched the win after Djokovic sent a forehand long. This loss broke Djokovic’s 10-match streak to start 2012, which included his Australian Open title.

Murray goes on to face either world number three-ranked Roger Federer or Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina in the finals of the Dubai Tennis Championships.
