Thirty-eight Americans—20 men and 18 women—are set to compete in the Australian Open singles main draw, the most since 39 in 1997 (23 women, 16 men).

Four American men got into the main draw through Qualifying—the most since five did in 2017—and the 20 U.S. men competing in the AO main draw is the most since 24 in 1995.

Thirteen Americans are also seeded (seven women, six men), which is the most at the Australian Open since there were also 13 seeded Americans (nine women, four men) in 2003.

The Australian Open singles main draw begins Saturday night in the U.S.
