Veteran Tommy Paul and rookie Ethan Quinn will lead the U.S. into its Davis Cup Qualifying First Round tie this weekend vs. Hungary in Tatabanya.

Paul, the world No. 22 and a veteran of 10 Davis Cup ties, takes to the indoor clay first on Saturday vs. No. 176 Zsombor Piros, beginning at 1 p.m. local time, 7 a.m. ET. Quinn, ranked No. 68 and playing in his first Davis Cup tie at 21 years old, matches up second against No. 46 Fabian Marozsan, a 26-year old playing in his 10th Davis Cup tie for Hungary.

Neither Paul nor Quinn have ever faced off against Marozsan or Piros before.

The best-of-five-match tie continues on Sunday, beginning with the doubles that pits 2026 Australian Open doubles champion Christian Harrison and former doubles world No. 1 Austin Krajicek against Marozsan and Piros. The tie then concludes with the reverse singles matches — Paul against Marozsan and Quinn against Piros. Sunday’s schedule could be amended if either team clinches victory in the third or fourth match, and captains may make substitutions to Sunday’s lineups up to one hour prior to match time for the doubles and after the previous match for the singles.

The first nation between the USA and Hungary to win three out of five matches wins the First Round Qualifier and will advance to the Second Round of Qualifying in late September. vs. the winner of Czechia and Sweden.
