This years Singles and Doubles Individuals Tournaments will begin on October 22 and culminate at the NYSPHSAA tournament on October 30-31.The PSAL singles and doubles winners will be invited to play in the NYSPHSAA tournament representing the PSAL.
The Qualifying tournament wil be held on Saturday, October 15.
Nominations for this year’s Singles and Doubles Tournament will begin Monday, October 3 and run through Wednesday, October 12. All Girls Tennis Coaches should notify the Commissioner and provide the names, position on the team and USTA number of the singles and doubles players that they would like to nominate for the tournament.
Please DO NOT SEND nominations to the commissioners as a reply to another email from the commissioners. Please compose a new email: SUBJECT: Tournament Nominations. NO late entrants will be accepted.
Criteria for Individuals Tournament
►Players must play a total of 50% of the team matches.
►1st singles players need to have won 40% of their matches.
►2nd singles players need to have won 50% of their matches.
►3rd singles players need to have won 60% of their matches.
►Doubles players need to have won 50% of their matches.
►All players are highly encouraged to register with the USTA since this is a USTA sanctioned tournament.
Any Singles and/or Doubles Players not entering the Singles Tournament may enter the Doubles Tournament and play as a team in order to field the best possible teams.
All tennis teams may submit up to three singles players and two doubles teams.
All entrants will be evaluated on their PSAL results and rankings as of Wednesday October 12. The top 8 singles players and doubles teams will be seeded directly into the main draw. Depending upon the number of nomintations, the remainder of the qualified singles players and doubles teams will participate in a Qualifying Tournament on Saturday, October 15 from 8::00 a.m. -2:00 p.m. at Cunningham Tennis Center.
COACHES MUST BE IN ATTENDANCE FOR ALL PLAYOFF MATCHES WHERE THEIR PLAYERS ARE PLAYING and ATHLETES MUST BE IN TEAM UNIFORM.
