The Men’s and Women’s Singles draws for the 2019 US Open were revealed on Thursday as the main draw’s opening matches get underway in just a couple of days on Monday, August 26.

Highlighting the reveal was a number of intriguing first-round matchups, most notably eighth-seeded Serena Williams taking on Maria Sharapova in a star-studded opening round showdown. 

Serena is 19-2 all-time against Sharapova, and the two last played the quarterfinals of the 2016 French Open. 

On the men’s side, eighth-seed Stefanos Tsitsipas meets Andrey Rublev in an exciting showdown to open up play, while American Steve Johnson takes on the 28th seed Nick Kyrgios, and young stars Denis Shapovalov and 18th seed Felix Auger Aliassime square off in an all-Canadian matchup.
